Tractor Sheet Metal Parts We Manufacture

Our press shop, weld shop and coating lines produce two families of tractor sheet metal: the visible skin that defines the tractor, and the structural parts that carry its loads.

Skin and body panels

  • Bonnet (hood) panels, side panels and grille surrounds
  • Front and rear fenders, mudguards and fender extensions
  • Cabin panels, roof skins and floor plates
  • Toolbox and battery box enclosures

Structural and guard parts

  • Chassis and frame mounting brackets, support plates and gussets
  • PTO shields, transmission covers and guards
  • Welded fender, bracket and panel sub-assemblies
  • Custom tractor sheet metal parts made to customer drawings or 3D models

Each part can be supplied loose or welded into a ready-to-fit sub-assembly, so your line receives exactly what it fits.

Engineered for Field Duty, Not Just the Road

A tractor spends its working life at sustained engine load, with constant vibration through the frame, and exposed to mud, standing water, crop residue and fertiliser. Three sheet metal risks follow from that, and our process is built around each of them.

Large panels lose their shape. Bonnets and fenders are large, gently curved surfaces where springback or handling damage shows up as uneven gaps at fitment. Tooling is reviewed for formability before it is built, and panels are formed through controlled press operations

Joints fatigue under vibration. Fender mounts and bracket welds see cyclic load every field hour. Our weld shop matches MIG, robotic, spot or projection welding to each joint and makes them in repeatable cells.

Coating fails at edges and seams. Corrosion usually starts where coating is thinnest: cut edges, holes and weld seams. Electro-deposition on our PTCED line reaches recesses and box sections that spray alone can miss, and our conveyorised powder-coating line adds the finish your drawing specifies.

Tractor in a farm landscape with seasonal agricultural cycles

Built Around the Agricultural Calendar

Tractor demand is seasonal. Retail volumes follow the sowing and harvest cycles and the festive season, so OEM build schedules rise and fall through the year instead of running flat. A sheet metal supplier has to hold quality steady through those swings, not just at average volume. Share your annual volume and expected peak months with your RFQ, and we plan tooling readiness, production scheduling and dispatch around your line plan.

  • Consistent dimensional quality from first batch to peak-season volumes
  • Scheduled production aligned with customer line requirements
  • Dispatch support through warehouses close to customer plants
  • One point of accountability for fitment, finish and delivery

Certified manufacturing & quality systems

Our manufacturing operations are certified to internationally recognised automotive and quality standards.

Our In-House Process: From Drawing to Dispatch

  • Drawing review: Review panels, brackets and joint locations for manufacturability, including tolerance stack-up where parts are welded together.
  • Tooling: Design and develop production tooling in-house, in coordination with your engineering team.
  • Press forming: Blank, pierce and form components through controlled press operations.
  • Welding: Join parts using MIG, robotic, spot or projection welding, with SPMs where they improve consistency at volume.
  • Surface treatment: Apply PTCED and/or conveyorised powder coating as the drawing specifies.
  • Inspection: Verify critical dimensions on CMM, Profile Projector and Faro Arm equipment before release.

Tractor, Implement and Off-Highway Platforms We Support

Our tractor sheet metal parts go into tractor OEM and agricultural implement programmes, including new and electric tractor platforms, which use the same tooling, press, welding and coating capability. For construction, material-handling and mining equipment, see our Off-Highway Parts page. Procurement teams can also consolidate other commodities with the same audited vendor: brake parts, chassis and cabin parts, engine parts, two-wheeler parts and complete assemblies.

What to Include in Your Tractor Sheet Metal RFQ

To assess feasibility and prepare an accurate quotation, share as much of the following as is available:

  • Drawings and CAD data: 2D drawings, 3D models and assembly drawings for welded parts.
  • Material: Grade, thickness and applicable material standard.
  • Finish: PTCED, powder coating, shade and any corrosion-test requirement your programme specifies.
  • Critical dimensions: Tolerances, GD&T and fitment interfaces such as bonnet hinges and fender mounts.
  • Volumes and seasonality: Annual quantity, expected peak months and ramp-up plan.
  • Supply status: New development or transfer from a current supplier, with approved samples if available.
  • Quality and approval requirements: Inspection plans and approval documentation your programme requires.
  • Timelines and delivery location: Target start of production, sample dates and delivery plant.

FAQ

Skin panels such as the bonnet, side panels, fenders and cabin panels are visible surfaces, so forming quality, edge condition and finish matter as much as fit. Structural parts such as brackets, support plates, guards and mounting members carry load and vibration, so they must hold position through welding and coating. We manufacture both in one process chain.

Tooling is reviewed for formability at the drawing stage, panels are formed through controlled press operations, and critical fitment points such as hinge and mounting locations are verified on CMM, Profile Projector or Faro Arm equipment before release.

We use MIG, robotic, spot and projection welding, chosen to suit the joint, the material and the volume. Purpose-built Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), developed with established equipment partners, support repeatable joints at production volumes.

Yes. Production tooling is designed in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM in coordination with your engineering team. Depending on the programme, tooling development may involve our internal capability and external tooling partners, and the route is confirmed in the feasibility response.

Share your annual volume and expected peak months with your RFQ. We align production scheduling and dispatch to your line plan, and our warehouses in Pithampur, Jamshedpur, Pune and Chennai support delivery close to customer plants.

Often, yes. Share the current drawing, approved samples and details of the existing tooling. Our engineering team will review the tooling route and confirm what validation is needed before series supply begins.

Sheet metal panels, guards and brackets for new and electric tractor platforms use the same tooling, press, welding and surface-treatment capability. Share your drawings and volume plan and our engineering team will confirm feasibility.

Yes. Presco-Mec Group also manufactures off-highway parts, brake parts, chassis and cabin parts, engine parts, two-wheeler parts and complete assemblies, so procurement teams can consolidate several commodities with one IATF 16949:2016 certified vendor.

Send drawings or 3D models, material and finish specifications, annual volumes with peak months, and target timelines through our Business Enquiry page or to info@prescomecgroup.com. Our engineering team will revert with a feasibility response.
